Month-long food fest aimed at fans of Filipino fare
Are you ready to tuck into some chicken adobo, kare-kare, kinilaw or tapsilog? Food fans will be licking their lips at the news that starting in just over a week is a month-long festival dedicated to the food of the Philippines.
Running from 12th June until 12th July, restaurants across Abu Dhabi will be ensuring diners can fill up on Filipino delights as part of Filfood Fest, with more than an estimated 100,000 diners predicted to dig in.
The organisers say that restaurants and food outlets across the capital will be getting involved and there will be a number of demonstrations from award-winning Filipino chefs as part of the programme.
Chefs on the Filfood Culinary Team include Julyss Albor, executive chef at Elite MC Group, and John Buenaventura, executive chef at the Waldorf Astoria Hotel, Dubai, as well as master mixologist Albert Opena.
Details of the final calendar of events for the festival are still being confirmed but the following restaurants and outlets in Abu Dhabi will be taking part:

- Panaderia Bakery, Al Falah
- Teriyaki Boy
- Hot Palayok
- Siomai House, Al Wahda Mall
- SFC Plus, Hamdan Street
- Shokudo, Abu Dhabi
- Off the Hook, Abu Dhabi and Al Ain
- Wooden Spoon
- Oriental Korner Restaurant
- Max’s Restaurant
