Travel to Paris, kind of…

Save the money you wanted to spend on a trip to Paris, and instead explore the timeless collection here in the heart of Abu Dhabi. The temporary exhibition From One Louvre To Another includes 150 masterpieces from the Château de Versailles and the Louvre’s earliest collections from the seventeenth and eighteenth century, including paintings, sculptures, furniture and ceramics gathered from across the world. Get crafty

Run along

Abu Dhabi Sports Council City Run is laying down the gauntlet this weekend with its race along the Corniche. With 5km, 10km and 21.1km distances on offer, you can limber up, grab your trainers and take part or go along and support the early morning runners as they take on the event. popsicleEver imagined what it was like to be Jack from Jack and The Beanstalk when he climbed up a giant beanstalk and found himself surrounded by giants? This week you can shrink yourself and explore a new culinary experience with Abu Dhabi Food Festival’s Big Piknik. The first-of-its-kind event in the capital, taking place over two days, features a picnic full of organic health foods from local farmers for friends and family, plus, it’s decorated with giant food items to make you feel as if you’ve shrunk in size. Go back in time

Showcasing the building styles adopted by early Emirati residents, the tour will also take visitors to Al Ain National Museum to discuss the natural materials used to build houses and the traditions and lifestyles adopted during the period. Historically, Al Ain enjoyed a strategic location between trade and commercial routes and is home to some of the oldest human settlements in the region. Catch a show

2016_community_2_baseAs part of the Literature and Music Festival, The Gift is being presented by Arab Puppet Theatre at Umm Al Emarat Park for families. The show will feature a magical tale centered around the special bond between Ishaq, a dedicated elephant keeper, and his protégé, Abou Al-Abbas, as they go through an epic journey from Baghdad to Europe.
