Drivers in Abu Dhabi will have to pay AED 10 or pump their own fuel starting from this weekend.
ADNOC Distribution has announced that the start date of the new ADNOC Flex services at fuel stations across the emirate will be 30th June. This follows a complimentary trial period that was held across selected stations.
ADNOC Flex will be rolled out at 150 stations in Abu Dhabi from midnight on Friday. Drivers will have the choice of refuelling their vehicles themselves free of charge or paying AED 10 for the premium service where attendants will fuel the vehicle for you.
Drivers using the premium service will have their car refuelled, windscreen washed and tyre pressure checked by attendants, all covered in the ten dirham charge. The elderly and those with special needs will be exempt from the fee.
An awards system has also been introduced for premium customers who will get discounts on coffee, car washes and other items through discount codes printed on their receipts, which can be redeemed within 30 days of the purchase.
A ‘smart tag’ option has also been introduced allowing drivers to refuel and pay using a tag on their vehicle that can be topped up with funds online. Customers can register for a smart tag online and book an installation by paying a AED 50 activation fee that is redeemable on fuel.
