What’s new at the Mother of the Nation festival?

The Mother of the Nation festival will return to the capital from 12th to 23rd March. 

The 12-day event will again pay tribute to the ‘Mother of the Nation’, Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, chairwomen of the General Women’s Union and president of the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood.

For the fourth edition, visitors can enjoy a range of performances, workshops, dining and retail outlets and activities at the festival’s location on the Corniche.

This year, the festival will also partner with the Special Olympics World Games, taking place in Abu Dhabi from 12th to 21st March, to spread a message of tolerance, inclusion and unity.

Commenting on this year’s focus, Saif Saeed Ghobash, undersecretary at the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi, said: “These values are the cornerstone of the festival year after year, and are embedded in all activities on offer, aiming to encourage positive participation and community engagement with all members of our society.

“In addition, we are committed to developing the entertainment and artistic offering of the popular festival, in order to elevate it further.”
