Thursday, 24th October

Books for a cause

Buy pre-loved books for a bargain at Operation Smile’s Big Book Sale at the main atrium of Al Wahda Mall. From fiction, non-fiction, graphic novels or reference materials, you’ll find it all here. Best of all, proceeds from the sales will be used to fund Operation Smile UAE’s medical missions here and abroad. Until 26th October.

Light it up

Ferrari World Abu Dhabi will be up in lights for eleven straight days as the theme park hosts its Bollywood-themed event, Festival of Lights. The extravaganza will feature spectacular live shows, traditional Indian bites and dedicated festival areas. Cruise through street-food carts and gift stalls in the bazaar, henna and caricature stations. Plus, you’ll have regular attractions like the adrenaline pumping Formula Rossa to keep you entertained.

Trick or treat

It’s that time of year again when Al Maryah Island transforms into a spooky village for its annual Halloween Festival. Children are encouraged to get decked out in their favourite costumes and indulge in charcoal ice cream, seasonal drinks and pumpkin flavoured desserts. In between the festive treats, there will be themed activities including mummy jar, slime and treat bag making workshops. Wrap things up with trick-or-treating where participating retailers (those with pumpkins outside the store) will be giving away candy. It’s on this Thursday and Friday so you’ve got two chances to get in on the fun.

Friday, 25th October

Burn rubber

Yas Marina Circuit,

Racing fans will have plenty to watch as Yas Marina Circuit hosts’ motor sport competitions for two days. Spectators can see Formula Renault Eurocup Championship, TRD86 Cup, the UAE ProCar and Radical Cup featuring local and international racers. Aside from the races, there will also be off-track activities including the Classic Car Parade on Friday morning featuring over 80 vintage vehicles.

Game on

The Middle East Games Con continues with lots of activities for casual and avid gamers. Here, visitors can sample new and upcoming games including Watch Dogs: Legion and Roller Champions, buy merchandise, join and watch competitions, cheer cosplayers and meet YouTube gaming stars.

In the spotlight  

Enjoy Diwali celebrations at WTC Abu Dhabi! Guests will be treated to an array of fun- filled family activities such as interactive shows, performances and great prizes, including a chance to win gold. Much of the activities will take place at the mall’s main aisle on the ground floor.

Hunt it down

The Great Abu Dhabi Scavenger Hunt is on! Come out for fun-filled day exploring the capital like never before. The idea is to compete in teams of four – or, if you think you’ve got what it takes, go it alone – to search for clues, objects and information that’s been carefully hidden across the city. The team with the most points at the end of the day wins a prize and a portion of the proceeds will be donated to help Animal Welfare Abu Dhabi feed and sterilise stray cats.

Saturday, 26th October



The month is set to wrap up but Brauhaus’ Oktobestfest is just heating up. Celebrate Germany’s folk festival with staple festival dishes, vast selection of hops, traditional games and live music from a Bavarian band. Until 2nd November.
