Did someone say free food?
Celebrating the launch of its new menu (and a rather fetching refit) Giraffe World Kitchen in Yas Mall is giving away 100 free meals to the first 100 customers to walk through the door this Saturday. With main courses like pulled beef brisket skillet and the rodeo chicken burger, there’s great food for most tastes – and did we mention it was free? Why not get yourself along and make the most of the offer this weekend? Free entry. Giraffe, Yas Mall, ground floor next to the town square. From midday. Contact: 02 565 0711, yasmall.ae
See a classic
Okay, so there’s a lot of buzz around the recently-released sequel, but the original Blade Runner truly is something special. Based on Phillip K Dick’s novel Do Androids Dream Of Electric Sheep, the 1982 film saw Harrison Ford take the lead in a neo-noir film that broke the mould and turned sci-fi on its head. With so many versions of the film been released, including the original theatrical version, director’s cut and more, this is a great opportunity to see the final cut, as director Ridley Scott wants you to see it, on the big screen. Free, but registration required. Manarat Al Saadiyat Auditorium, Saadiyat Island. 7pm. Visit: cinemaspace-bladerunner.splashthat.com
Grab a bite
Returning to the capital this weekend, the Food Truck Jam is bringing some of the best food trucks from across the UAE to the capital for a feast. With live music, entertainment for children, and did we mention loads of food trucks selling everything from pizza to Mexican food, it’s a great destination to chill out as a family and kill a few hours. Free entry. Abu Dhabi Golf Club, next to Westin Abu Dhabi Golf Club and Resort, Sas Al Nakhl. From 4pm. Visit: facebook.com/events/1643955762342254/
