Whether you want to have fun with friends or improve your fitness, here are some great events and activities to join in throughout Ramadan.

Project Warehouse

Festember is back with its unique Ramadan festival dubbed Project Warehouse. The event brings together fashion and lifestyle brands, gourmet food and beverage, live entertainment, art installations and more under one roof to celebrate local talent and businesses with the community. 15th-18th May. du Forum, Yas Island. Ramadan Arcade

Manarat Al Saadiyat welcomes people back for the return of Ramadan Arcade, a contemporary event putting a modern twist on the traditional elements of Ramadan. Hosted from 9th to 18th May, the showcase features interactive activities, games, musical performances, workshops, shopping and culinary experiences all under one roof. Challenge your friends with retro games like Pac Man and Space Invaders, watch film screenings and old television series from across the region, enjoy live shows from Bait Al Oud, take part in creative Ramadan-themed workshops and more. Ramadan and Eid Festival

The annual Ramadan and Eid Festival is back at Adnec with a family-friendly consumer show. Shop for goods and unique gifts while enjoying Arabic food, toys and games, traditional songs and live dance performances in celebration of the spirit of togetherness. 7th May-5th June. Bazaar Ramadan Al Ain

If you’re in the Garden City, bring your family and friends along to this ladies-only event where you can celebrate the season with bridal wear, clothing and accessories, beauty stalls and food and beverage outlets. 9th-11th May. Free. Al Ain Rotana, Zayed bin Sultan Street, Al Ain. 8pm-11pm.

Ramadan at The Galleria

Celebrating the Year of Tolerance, The Galleria on Al Maryah Island is hosting a unique photography exhibition throughout the holy month. Held in collaboration with The National Archive, the exhibition will feature some never-before-seen photographs of HH Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan. During the final five days of Ramadan, The Galleria will host a series of family-friendly activations, including henna art, children’s activities and themed arts and crafts workshops. Free. 8pm-11pm. Bluelight exhibition 

Visit this ladies-only exhibition between 17th and 19th May where you can shop for a variety of goods including beauty products, bridal wear, clothing and accessories. Detox yoga cleanse

Ramadan is about detoxing, not only physically but also mentally and emotionally. Clear your mind with the Ramadan detox yoga cleanse 2019. The four-week series includes yoga sessions that focus on detoxifying, restoring and breathing to increase strength and mobility, reduce tightness and stress and improve your posture. Ramadan full moon cleansing

Ramadan is a time for self-discipline, devotion and introspection, so take time out for yourself during the season with a self-healing workshop. The ladies-only Ramadan full moon cleansing session with Inner Seed will help you harness the healing power of the full moon, let go of that which does not serve you and discover ways to nourish your mind and body. Ramadan cycle race

If you’re using this time to get fit and healthy then sign up for the Ramadan Cycle Race at Yas Marina Circuit. The knock-out style race means you have a precise amount of time to complete each lap or you’ll face elimination. With the last two laps considered ‘free’, it’ll be down to the wire as the last ones standing – or should we say, cycling – sprint to the finish to claim the top spot. AED 55. Yas Island. Zayed Sports Tournament

The 23rd edition of this annual sports tournament kicks off on Wednesday 8th May. A collaboration between the Fatima Bint Mubarak Ladies Sports Academy and the Armed Forces Officers Club will see ladies develop their skills for a chance to win prizes. As part of the event, new ladies-only activities will be held including a basketball tournament on 8th and 9th May at Abu Dhabi Ladies Club, an archery tournament on 15th May at Abu Dhabi Cricket Stadium and a handball tournament on 16th May at Abu Dhabi Ladies Club. The event also comprises a friendly football tournament from 12th to 14th May. Entry fees vary from AED 80 to AED 500 per team. Registration required. Times vary. Visit:

ZSC Academy Ramadan Beginner’s Tennis Programme

Interested in taking up a new sport during Ramadan? Running from 7th to 27th May, this adult beginner’s programme operated by Zayed Sports City’s ZSC Academy is designed to help you pick up the basics and get you active. You’ll get to join in six sessions with internationally certified coaches on hand to teach you a bit of everything from swings to serves. AED 630 for course.
