Take note of these road closures for the Pope visit

Some roads in the capital will be closed tomorrow as Pope Francis hosts a public mass at Zayed Sports City. 

The Department of Transport announced that restrictions will be in place from 6pm on Monday 4th February until 6pm on Tuesday 5th February. 

Roads around Zayed Sports City, including Saif Ghubash Street and Sheikh Rashid bin Saeed Street, will be closed in both directionsMore than 1,000 buses will transport worshipers to the venue for the mass that is scheduled to begin at 10.30am, and no cars will be allowed near the venue. Trucks have also been banned from entering Abu Dhabi island on the day.

Those travelling in Abu Dhabi are advised to avoid Zayed Sports City and have been reminded that the bus service will be affected by the event and buses will be less frequent than normal. 

Those who do not have a ticket to the event will not be able to travel to Zayed Sports City on the free bus service and will not be permitted entry into the event.
