Don’t miss out on the last week of the second Guggenheim Abu Dhabi collection exhibition. The event, which started in March, features more than 18 artists coming from diverse backgrounds. Centred around themes relating to performance, process and presence, the works on show include sculptures, videos, photos and paintings. Each theme is explored and presented by a chapter and by the end of the event, the three chapters provide you with a deeper understanding of these artists’ perspectives. Free entry. If you’re keen to learn more about the history and variety of dates, and everything involved in producing these flavourful fruits, then take a trip to the Liwa Date Festival. Apart from being able to feast on dates, lemons and mangoes, you will also be able to attend workshops, seminars and awareness programmes on what it takes to be an efficient farmer. Getting a chance to see different families compete against each other and display their best produce will show you why the delicious date plays such a vital role in Emirati heritage and culture.
