You have to see this new UAE-made film this weekend

The UAE is the star of an upcoming feature film as a new family comedy is set to screen in cinemas across the country from 22nd November.

Written and directed by Iraqi filmmaker Yasir Al-Yasiri and produced by Image Nation Abu Dhabi, Shabab Sheyab is a family comedy that follows four friends living in a residential centre for senior citizens. When one of the group inherits a large fortune, the four trade in their life at the old people’s home for the trip of a lifetime in Dubai.

Set to show in cinemas across the country from 22nd November, the film stars some of the region’s best-loved actors, including Saad Al Farah, Mansoor Al Feeli, Marei Al Halian and Salloum Haddad, and originally premiered at Palm Springs International Film Festival earlier this year.

Commenting on the release, director Yasir Al-Yasiri said: “Shabab Sheyab celebrates living in the moment, and the warmth and humour that the cast brought to their performances have resonated with audiences everywhere we’ve shown it. At heart, the film is a love letter to Dubai and presents a uniquely UAE perspective on life, so this opening is a true homecoming and we’re delighted to share our excitement with communities across the region.”
