In an effort to spread more awareness about children with autism in the community, the UAE’s Ministry of Community Development and media-entertainment firm Image Nation Abu Dhabi recently visited schools to reach out to students, parents and teachers.

The three-day tour across the Northern Emirates featured lectures and workshops led by Sharifa Yateem, an Emirati applied behavioural analyst and lead specialist in the documentary, As One: The Autism Project.

Residents gained insights about the nature of autism, how to identify its symptoms and how to integrate students with the condition in the community.
