The British International School Abu Dhabi is a co-educational, non-selective school offering the English National Curriculum from the age of 3-16, and the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme from the age of 16 - 18. We are rated Band A ‘Very Good’ school in the latest ADEC inspection.

We are an established school priding ourselves on being a welcoming and friendly community, with the highest quality learning opportunities extending beyond the classroom. Being part of the Nord Anglia family of 54 schools worldwide has provided so many amazing opportunities for our students, such as the collaboration between Nord Anglia Education and The Juilliard School in New York. Our students follow a performing arts curriculum developed by specialists from Juilliard, as well as enjoying Juilliard alumni visits to our school throughout the year.

There is also our Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) collaboration bringing a new approach to learning the interdisciplinary subjects of STEAM. Through in-school challenges, an annual visit to MIT in New York, and specialised training for our STEAM teachers, we put our students at the vanguard of developing skills for the 21st century.

We are also extremely honoured to be working with UNICEF and have committed to elevate the 17 Sustainable Development Goals. We believe that every child can have a positive impact on the world and have been embedding the two goals that we have worked on this year in our curriculum, actions and extra-curricular. We have three students and a teacher who visited New York along with 80 other Nord Anglia students who are took part in debates and workshops with UN leaders and wrote papers and presented on what they had been doing to tackle the goals.

Our ‘Be Ambitious’ philosophy drives our educational offer, as we believe there is no limit to what our students can achieve. This approach to teaching is designed to develop skills that every person requires, and not just the ability to remember facts. Our students learn problem solving and decision-making skills, and are encouraged to question the status quo through intelligent and well researched arguments.

We support all our students to take full advantage of the various ‘beyond the classroom’ activities on offer so that they gain as many experiences as possible. Whether it is through outdoor activities such as wakeboarding or developing strategic skills through the school chess club, our approach is to encourage and support, rather than to limit a child’s potential.

Admissions is open year round except for Public Holidays, and an Admissions Officer is always available to help.
