For the 13th year, the world’s largest student-run cyber security event will pit hackers from around the globe for a noble cause.
The Cyber Security Awareness Week will take place at its founding campus NYU Tandon School of Engineering, the Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur, and NYU Abu Dhabi – with all three venues hosting the final rounds running from 10th to 12th November 2016.
Participants will come from India, the Middle East, North Africa, and the United States. Winners will take home cash prizes, scholarships and bragging rights.
Last year saw nearly 20,000 students brandishing their knowledge of every aspect of information security from hardware and software penetration testing and protection to digital forensics and government policy.
“Data security is a critical global issue. Attackers know no national boundaries, and neither should those who protect our personal privacy and institutions,” says Nasir Memon, professor and chair of the NYU Tandon Department of Computer Science and Engineering.
