Abu Dhabi World fitness fans Camille Hogg and Rachael Perrett shake up their routines and give this new class a go
What is it?
BTB Bounce is the latest in Bodytree Studio’s Bodytree Body (BTB) series. It’s explosive. It’s fun. It’s tough.
With instructor Anya Tarasiuk at the helm – and this girl means business – you’ll be jumping up and down, back and forth, left to right and in and out to some awesome music. Needless to say there’s a lot of energy in the room, which is good because you’ll need it to get through the class.
So what’s involved?
BTB Bounce is a one-hour class that’s designed to really get your heart rate up so straight away you’ll be bouncing around getting your pulse racing. This is no leisurely bounce either; Anya explains you get the most benefit by really sinking down into your legs so as not to change your height as you bounce. Sound tough? That’s because it is, but this is how you get the real benefits.
The class features several soundtracks with moves and routines matching the music – that’s the fun part. But you’ll feel a serious burn all over as you work your legs, glutes, back, core and arms – and don’t be fooled by the tiny 1kg weights.
Although the pace of the class is quite fast with minimal breaks, you’re free to stop whenever you feel out of breath and take it down a notch, following the movements from solid ground.
Will I fall off the trampoline?
Probably not, although you do need a degree of self-awareness to avoid stepping off the mesh and onto the springs as you try to keep up the pace with the instructor. It’s probably best that you’re not totally uncoordinated, although you can go at your own pace so don’t panic.
What are the benefits?
Besides boosting your cardiovascular fitness and helping tone your muscles, trampoline fitness classes are known to boost metabolism, aid weight loss, improve lymphatic drainage and keep cellulite at bay. Best of all, it’s fun, and the results will speak for themselves if you commit to the class regularly.
How do I sign up?
