The Ministry of Energy has just announced what drivers will be paying at the pumps from May 1st and there’s a rise of about seven per cent across the board.

Super 98 unleaded has gone from AED 2.33 last month to 2.49 – a rise of 16 fils.

Special 95 unleaded has gone up to AED 2.37, rising from AED 2.22 (that’s 15 fils).

Diesel has also increased – going to AED 2.56 from AED 2.43, a 13 fil increase.

If you haven’t filled your tank already, it would be a good idea to top up before midnight on 30th April. Remember, all prices given are per litre and include VAT.

Petrol prices had remained static for March and April, so this a bit of a blow for drivers – although the UAE has some of the lowest fuel prices in the world.

Fuel prices are announced towards the end of the month and we’ll continue to share the latest prices with you once announced by the Ministry Of Interior.
