UAE mourns death of president’s brother

Three days of mourning has been declared in the UAE following the passing of Sheikh Sultan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the president’s representative.

Sheikh Sultan is the brother of UAE President Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan.

The Ministry of Presidential Affairs declared the mourning period and ordered that flags be flown at half-mast.

Born in Al Ain in 1955, Sheikh Sultan was the second son of the country’s founding father, Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan.

Rulers from the other emirates offered their condolences to the Al Nahyan family after being told of the sad news.
