Make the most of winter with this outdoor family brunch

For those in search of a break from the bustle of the city, the Garden Brunch at Bab Al Shams Desert Resort & Spa is the destination of choice.

The unique atmosphere combines the friendly feel of a family picnic with the adventurous spirit of the great outdoors in a laid back and convivial setting

With a host of delicious dishes and tempting beverages, many of the food options at Bab Al Shams have an authentically Middle Eastern feel where the aromas of Arabia mingle with the scents of nature, and the sizzle of cooking is accompanied by happy chatter from guests.

The magic of childhood is celebrated here, too, with face painting, jugglers, magicians and a petting zoo. Children will also relish the chance to stretch those little legs, and will be entertained with pony and camel rides as well as a bouncy castle – that’s before we even get to the dedicated children’s buffet and the range of party games organised by the attentive team.

While the young adventurers are off having fun, grown-ups are left to sample the lavish buffet. There’s a diverse range of cuisines from around the world, along with chilled artisan beverages prepared to order. There’s a seafood corner, cheese room and enough dessert to satisfy even the sweetest tooth. The rustic setting with live entertainment from a band and a magician is the perfect way for guests to create happy memories with family and friends.

For those who prefer to socialise after dark, the Arabian Nights spectacle at Al Hadheerah restaurant will set pulses racing. The exciting entertainment features spinning tanourah dancers, sinuous belly dancers, marching camel caravans and a spellbinding horse and camel show. Here, guests are treated to the finest Arabian cuisine, with live cooking stations and indulgent Middle Eastern sweets. The nearby Heritage Village offers insight into Emirati life and culture prior to the rise of skyscrapers and five-star hospitality.

The Garden Brunch at Bab Al Shams starts from AED 365. Al Qudra Road, Dubai. Fri 1pm-4pm. Contact: 04 809
