Speaking Together

Hosted by Guggenheim Abu Dhabi, the Guggenheim Abu Dhabi: Talking Art Series will take place on 19th September to explore the practice of conceptual art in more depth with a talk entitled Transcultural Exchanges/Experimental Practices: Conceptual Art Networks, 1960s–Today.

Gathering together international artists, curators, critics, scholars and art enthusiasts, experts from the field, including Emirati artist Mohammed Kazem, will debate and discuss how international artistic collaboration has changed the conceptual art field from the 1960s to the present day.

Exploring the role of culture, exhibition, spectator engagement and publication, the public talk will seek to gain a deeper insight into the conceptual art field and how it has evolved as a result of these relationships.

Commenting on the event Maisa Al Qassimi, senior project manager of the Guggenheim Abu Dhabi said: “The last several decades have been integral in the formation and advancement of networks of artists and curators in the art world internationally and especially among those focused on conceptual art practices. Access and inclusivity to these networks is key to the development of any region’s art industry and landscape.”

The talk will take place on 19th September at the Manarat Al Saadiyat auditorium from 7pm. To find out more, visit: manaratalsaadiyat.ae
