A new cricket academy has launched in Abu Dhabi backed by one of the greatest legends in the sport.
Chandu Borde, an award-winning circketer who played for the Indian team between 1958 and 1970, was in town to officially open the Chandu Borde Cricket Academy.
Finding home at the Global Indian International School campus, the academy, which is open to all youngsters in Abu Dhabi, seeks to impart professional knowledge and training to young cricketers to hone their skills in the sport and improve their overall physical development.
Throughout his career, Chandu won numerous accolades, including the Padma Shri Award and Arjuna Award, before joining the Indian National Cricket Selectors Board after retiring.
Today, the former batsman is considered a legend in the sport and works to pass down his knowledge to budding athletes.
