Strengthening community ties is the focus of a new initiative that will run until the end of 2019. And there’ll be lots to do for the entire family.
Loads of free actives are coming to the capital and it all starts 17th October.
Abu Dhabi Moments, the initiative’s name, is set to roll out 25 events across five locations: Al Reem Island, Abu Dhabi Corniche, Al Bateen, Al Hudayriat Island and Downtown Abu Dhabi.
The programme is about fun and a family-like atmosphere that celebrates cultural diversity regardless of age, gender, race, social standing and religion.
The curated activities for the public to enjoy will range from recreational, cultural and sports events.
During the media tour of the Abu Dhabi Moments’ tent, the Department of Community Development outlined a number of outdoor events such a drive-through cinema, Sunday market, a haunted house, among others.
“When designing events and activities, diversity was taken into consideration as there are citizens of many nationalities and different cultures living in Abu Dhabi,” said Sultan Al Mutawa Al Dhaheri, executive director for the tourism sector at Abu Dhabi Tourism and Culture Authority.
“Therefore, we have carefully curated events to include art, music, sport, food and retail.”
This latest initiative is part of Ghadan 21 – the government accelerator programme – to boost the capital’s appeal as a great place to live, work, do business and visit.
More details about the events, including schedules, are available at abudhabimoments.ae and Abu Dhabi Moments app.
