The recently concluded Majlis Zayed exhibition provided an intimate look at the life of the UAE’s founding father, Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan.
From personal possessions and presents given to the revered leader to objects with great national significance – all of which have not been seen by the public before – the exhibit pays homage to the enduring legacy left behind by Sheikh Zayed.
The four-day exhibition was held on the 90th floor of the Burj Mohammed Bin Rashid at World Trade Centre (WTC) Abu Dhabi.
“We chose to do this exhibition at the highest point in Abu Dhabi. Why? Because the vision of Sheikh Zayed was to take this country and its people to great heights,” said Yasser Al Marzouqi, general manager of WTC Abu Dhabi.
“There were a lot of items to choose from, and we wanted to have more items on display,” added Yasser. “But we want to test it and see how people will respond to this event.”
The positive response garnered by the exhibition means that a repeat might be in the offing in the immediate future.
“This is the first and it won’t be the last,” smiled Yasser. “It will just be the start of something bigger.”
