Run off with the circus

If it’s astonishing stunts you’re after, then the Circus Abyssinia is for you. Ethiopian Dreams is the opening act of the fifth season of The Arts Center at NYUAD.  The show follows the story of two brothers named Bibi and Bichu who dream of joining the circus. Heart-stopping acrobats, jugglers and contortionists, not to mention the sounds of Ethiopia, merge to tell the story. But will the boys realise their dream? Book yourself a ticket and find out.

Take a splash!

Aloft Abu Dhabi is staging a pool party to celebrate Abu Dhabi Showdown Week. Party in a temperature-controlled pool as glorious showers and foam rain down – sounds wild! Manning the decks to keep the beat moving are DJs Saif and Sound and Darryl Rees.

Friday, 6th September

Great variety

The Elements Brunch at Le Royal Meridien Abu Dhabi combines an array of flavours inspired by the elements of fire, earth, air and water. What’s the deal? Calm before the storm

Witness participating fighters for the much-anticipated UFC 242 in a pre-fight face-off. The official weigh-in includes headliners Khabib Nurmagomedov and Dustin Poirer. Cultural immersion

Check out the community exhibition on the first floor of the Cultural Foundation for exhibition The Tribute: A Dedication to Najat Makki. The show features works that pay tribute to the influence of renowned Emirati artist Najat Makki. Whether you have kids in tow or not, don’t miss the venue’s newly opened Abu Dhabi Children’s Library while you’re there. You won’t regret it!
