How to make the most of this weekend

Just like that, 2018 is coming to an end and we’ve got one last weekend to enjoy before the New Year!

With immersive art exhibitions, hands-on classes, retro parties, world-class sporting action and more to choose from in the next few days: what will you get up to?

Thursday 27th December 

Kick off the weekend by heading down to Zayed Sports City to watch the 11th annual Mubadala World Tennis Championship. The star-studded roster of players includes Serena Williams, Rafael Nadal and Novak Djokovic, to name just a few. Who will come out on top this year? From AED 200. Friday 28th December 

It’s a family affair this weekend at Zayed Sports City’s annual Family Festival. Bring the whole gang along for an action-packed afternoon with over 25 activities to choose from, including ziplining, outdoor ice skating, slime making and more. Free, registration required. Enjoy some culture and visit the Abdul Qader Al Rais’ 50 Years of Art exhibition. The collection celebrates the renowned Emirati artist and the evolution of his work, which has been meticulously crafted over the last five decades. Free. Watch one of your favourite flicks under the night’s sky at Yas Waterworld. Saturday 29th December 

Roll up your sleeves and seize the clay for a three-day pottery introduction course with Art Central. Embark on your journey with clay by learning the fundamentals, including hand building, wheel throwing, surface decorations and glazing, to become an expert in no time. AED 885. Head along to Umm Al Emarat Park to enjoy live music,  a spot of shopping from a host of local vendors and of course, food.
