A Garden City hotel is putting its best foot forward to support the Year of Zayed with a community charity event for a good cause
On 16th March, Al Ain Rotana will join forces with UAE Red Crescent and Mediclinic to raise money to fund the treatment of children battling cancer at the city’s Tawam Hospital.
Now in its eighth edition, the Al Ain Rotana Walkathon was founded in 2011 to support a little girl named Mennatallah who was undergoing treatment at the time, and since then, countless businesses, schools and community members have joined the march.
Commenting on the initiative, Armin Weller, executive assistant manager of Al Ain Rotana, highlighted the event’s ability to bring the community together for a good cause: “We started sponsoring such charitable activities a couple of years ago, for we believe that as an established organisation in the United Arab Emirates, we have a social responsibility to create a positive impact in the community of Al Ain.
“This year we are expecting more participants and donations, as this year is the Year of Zayed, the year of generosity and kindness. We know that the people of the UAE, locals and expatriates alike, care deeply about helping others, especially children who are courageously facing a huge battle.”
The Al Ain Rotana Walkathon will take place on 16th March at Al Ain Rotana from 8am to 11am. To donate or get involved, contact: 03 754 5111 or click here.
