A total of 18 new electric vehicle charging stations are set to pop up across the UAE and Oman in a bid to make driving an eco-friendly vehicle more viable.
GreenParking, the official charging station partner of the Global Electric Vehicle Road Trip (EVRT) event, will be overseeing the construction of the new stations along the route of the 2018 EVRT Middle East convoy for electric vehicles, taking place from 18th to 26th January.
The new and improved charging stations will be set up at key locations in the UAE and Oman. Some of these places in Abu Dhabi include the Crowne Plaza in Yas Island and Tilal Liwa Hotel in Madinat Zayed. The new stations join the 12 existing ones for Mercedes-Benz and Tesla models.
This is a step towards becoming more environmentally friendly for the future, making the electrically charged cars now a real option for car buyers.
Sam Alawiye, CEO of Green Parking, said: “Electric vehicles are the future of transport and they will soon be a common sight on the UAE’s roads.”
