The city’s tourism industry is poised for a big push – thanks to a new law that will see reductions in taxes in the near future.

According to the latest proposal by the Abu Dhabi Executive Committee, tourism fees will be slashed from six percent to 3.5 percent and municipality fees will go down from four percent to two percent.

In addition, a cut on municipality fees for hotel rooms from AED 15 to AED 10 per room, per night, has also been proposed.

These revisions, according to committee chairman, Jassim Al Zaabi, will help drive Abu Dhabi’s tourism sector and its development plan to continuously improve facilities and services to lure more visitors.
