A famous Mexican sculpture is now on display in the capital

An iconic piece of art that has become a symbol of hope is now on display in Abu Dhabi.

Jorge Marín

Created by Mexican sculptor and painter Jorge Marín, who’s known for his depictions of mythical creatures, the Wings of Mexico sculpture is being temporarily housed at Manarat Al Saadiyat.

Staying in the capital until 31st October, the sculpture is here as part of a road tour, having visited Kuwait, Egypt, Singapore and Shanghai, among other cities.

Since its creation in 2010, the sculpture – which consists of two bronze wings placed on an iron frame above three concrete steps – has come to be considered a symbol of the dreams of the country’s citizens and helps promote Mexico’s image on a global stage.
