Patients aged 60 and over will benefit from at-home care and additional services to cut their wait times by up to 70 percent.
A new programme launched by Seha, which owns and operates all public hospitals and clinics in Abu Dhabi, aims to improve healthcare experiences for elderly patients.
As part of the Your Health is Our Responsibility initiative, patients will be provided with a variety of services including psychological services, priority parking and transportation.
Doctors and nursing staff will make home visits and carry out screenings for patients who are unable to visit hospitals.
In addition, a hotline will be set up to help patients manage appointments and medications will be brought to them, eliminating the need to collect prescriptions from the pharmacy.
Representatives will be on hand to escort patients through the registration process and meet with family members to discuss health plans.
Patients will also be provided with a specific healthcare card called Absher, which gives them priority at all Seha facilities.
Currently the service is available at Tawam Hospital in Al Ain and Sheikh Khalifa Medical City in Abu Dhabi, with plans to roll it out to more clinics in the future.
