The Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation announced a paid two-day holiday for Eid Al Fitr for private sector employees.
Although we don’t know for sure which day Eid Al Fitr will fall on, holidays for public and private sector workers have now been confirmed.
For workers in the private sector, if Eid falls on Sunday 25th June, work will resume on Tuesday 27th June, however, if Eid falls on Monday 26th June work will resume on 28th June.
And for workers in the public sector the holiday will begin on 24th June and work will resume on Wednesday 28th June. If Eid falls on Monday, 26th June, the holiday will still begin on Saturday but work will still resume on Sunday 2nd July.
Eid Al Fitr marks the breaking of fasting during the holy month and its start will be confirmed by a moon sighting committee.
