A trio of homeschooled students in Abu Dhabi are out to prove their history knowledge at an international tournament.
Young history brainiacs from around the globe will compete in Berlin, Germany for the International History Bee and Bowl from 27th to 30th May.
Representing the UAE, with backing from Abu Dhabi HomeSchoolers Association (ADHSA), are teenagers Reham and Arham Zia, and Brycham Hall.
They are the only homeschoolers participating in this year’s contest.
The competition will see students visit and absorb as much information from various museums and historical sites – including the iconic Berlin Wall –in the host country.
ADHSA chairwoman Rebecca Lavallee said, “This is a great opportunity for these teens to shine; also their good conduct and hard work reflect well on homeschoolers all over the world.”
Participating students are chosen after vying in regional interschool competitions held once or twice a year. The winning and runner-up teams are then eligible to compete in the international championship in Asia, Europe and North America.
