Plans to improve the efficiency of educational authorities and maintain a high standard of educational quality performance have been put in place.

The Ministry of Education approved the 2016-2017 operational plans, which includes 27 initiatives to be implemented during the first, second and third terms to create an education-supportive environment for children in public schools.

Fawzia Hassan Garib, assistant undersecretary for educational operations, said: “This objective involves six initiatives that aim to increase students’ grades, enhance Emirati students’ academic achievements in the reading test (SIBA), tackle the school dropout phenomenon and provide material requirements for students with special needs.”

Further initiatives are aimed at providing training to educational leaders and staff, investing in school premises, increasing school volunteering hours and launching programmes dedicated to national identity.
