An international coffee and doughnut chain has unveiled a new product to benefit a local charity.
Tim Hortons has launched a new Smile Cookie campaign in partnership with Al Jalila Foundation. For every AED 6 cookie purchased, the company will donate the full amount to the foundation to help provide medical care to children.
The campaign has previously been launched in the company’s native Canada to raise money for local charity, and now the initiative is being rolled out in the UAE for the very first time.
Funds raised will be invested in Al Jalila Foundations’s paediatric initiative, Farah, the Arabic word for happiness, and will be used to provide life-saving treatment and fund research initiatives.
Starting from 24th September until 29th October, you can pick up your smile cookie from participating Tim Hortons stores in the UAE to help do your bit for local charity while enjoying a sweet treat.
Dr Abdulkareem Sultan Al Olama, CEO of Al Jalila Foundation, said: “We are pleased to be working with the Tim Hortons™ brand and appreciate their support for our paediatric program.
“Farah offers hope and healing to children in need of medical care. Our partnership with the Tim Hortons™ brand on their Smile Cookie campaign is a great community initiative that reflects the UAE’s vision to be one of the happiest nations in the world.”
