The Cultural Foundation has a remodelled theatre space and a special lineup of events for you to enjoy inside its new digs.
The 900-seat theatre in Al Hosn, Abu Dhabi’s original urban block in the heart of the city, is set to open with three events spanning performing arts, music and education so get up, get out and take in some culture!
Catch a bit of Emirati theatre on 10th September at 8pm with Ahmed bint Sulaiman, a play adapted by Naji Al-Hai, which is largely influenced by The Sand Child (Tefl Al Rimal), a novel by Moroccan Francophone writer Tahar Ben Jelloun. It’s been interpreted and written in the Emirati dialect with a focus on poetic language to give you a true cultural experience. Tickets are available for AED 30.
Enjoy the smooth sound of Mehad Hamad on 12th September at 8pm as he performs traditional Emirati songs accompanied by the oud. Hamad, an experienced orator who has performed poems by UAE leaders, particularly verse written by the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, is sure to invigorate your senses with smooth melodies. Tickets range in price from AED 200 to AED 800.

Fancy a chat with the art elite? Najat Makki brings the rhythms of nature to life in her art through colour. She also strives to depict music through her unique and avant-garde style of painting. Join the artist alongside art historian and writers Talal Moualla and Dr Omar Abdulaziz for a chat about her artistic experience, identity and inspirations on 11th September from 6.30pm-8pm. This event is free and open to the public.
All events are taking place at the Cultural Foundation Theatre located on Sheikh Rashid bin Saeed Al Maktoum Street.
