The Journey of the Union programme allowed Emirati students to discover more about their heritage.
Co-ed students representing different schools across the seven emirates recently headed down to Qasr al Watan to discover untold stories, gain a deeper understanding of UAE traditions and learn about the role of Qasr Al Watan in shaping the UAE’s political and social history.
The students were chosen based on academic excellence in science, social distinction, winning international competitions and for being polylingual.
The Journey of the Union initiative aims to enrich the spirit of patriotism and deepen students’ knowledge of the country’s heritage at various levels.
Qasr Al Watan – which means Palace of the Nation in English – is the capital’s presidential palace that hosts foreign leaders and dignitaries.
It is also here where the country’s supreme council and federal cabinet meet to discuss policies and important issues. The palace opened its doors to residents and tourists in March this year.
