New initiative puts spotlight on community heroes

It’s the diverse population that makes Abu Dhabi vibrant and dynamic, it’s what breathes life into it and now their stories will be revealed

This is NOT just another story but rather an entirely new initiative, aptly named Abu Dhabi Story.

The Abu Dhabi Government Media Office is behind the initiative which will highlight stories from across the emirate via social media platforms..

And the focus is Abu Dhabi’s multicultural community.

The platform will showcase those people who are making a difference in the community.

They will be able to share their favourite places and activities in the city, and they will get to share thoughts on how Abu Dhabi encourages inclusiveness, diversity and tolerance.

Abu Dhabi Story kicks off with Dorian Rogers, an educator and founder of the long-running spoken-word poetry night Rooftop Rhythms.

Also featured is Ahmed Al Blooshi, whose inspiring story led him to pursue a career in the museum industry upon prodding from Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan.

Ahmed currently works at Louvre Abu Dhabi on Saadiyat Island.

“The channel will amplify authentic stories and share inspirational untold stories of people, places and communities of Abu Dhabi,” commented Maryam Eid Al Mheiri, director general of the Abu Dhabi Government Media Office.

“Speaking to who we are, what we believe, and where we are going. Stories that celebrate the people, personalities and hidden gems of our emirate.”
