Laugh out loud

New to the growing comedy scene in the capital, Laugh Riot is taking over Tumbleweed in the Grand Millennium Al Wahda. With a range of international comedians including Adam Buck, Rob McKenzie, Lyndsay Head, Erik Thornquist and headliner Simeon Goodson, you can hear about life in the capital, their experiences and observations as they deliver some jokes. AED 50. Tune in

Performing live in the capital, ‘Queen Between’, is a collaboration between Susheela Raman, Sam Mills and Rizwan Muazzam Qawwali, taking place at NYUAD Arts Center. This cross-cultural, cross-genre musical collaboration reflects themes of cultural exchange, migration, and transformation and is like nothing you’ve seen before. Fancy trying something new? Well, abstaining from eating meat is something that is practised during the ninth lunar month by the Chinese community in Phuket, offering vegetables a chance to shine. Celebrating this tradition, a special four course meat-free menu is being offered to customers for a limited time at Cho Gao, with Thai dishes including yam hed thod, puek pad med mamuang and tao hu thod on the menu. “Booooooorrrn in the USA….” Okay, we’re getting a little carried away. The Boss himself, Bruce Springsteen isn’t coming to Abu Dhabi, but the next best thing is. The Boss UK has gained a big reputation as the best Springsteen tribute act on the circuit and now he’s bringing the hits to the capital. Blasting out songs like ‘Born To Run’, ‘Dancing in the Dark’ and ‘Born in the USA’, it’s not one to be missed for fans of live music. Free entry. If setting sail on Abu Dhabi’s waters floats your boat, then this weekend you check out a wide range of second hand boats and watercrafts, as well as jet-skis, watersports equipment and more at the returning Yas Marina Boat Festival. If you don’t know anything about sailing and yachting but are intrigued, this could be the perfect place to find out more see whats on the market and find out what’s available in your price range.
