Abu Dhabi has its share of serene locations that lend themselves to a spot of yoga and this fact is not lost on Sasha Quince, founder of Let’s Go Yoga and its annual Wellness and Spa Retreat.
This year’s retreat takes place from 19th to 21st March at The St. Regis Saadiyat Island Resort.
Sasha says, “A lot of people are jetting away to yoga retreats in Bali, Indonesia, Thailand and India because nothing is offered here.
“Abu Dhabi has beautiful islands with beaches that offer magical spaces to decompress and reduce stress. We are blessed with a great environment for a retreat.”
Yoga is a physical, mental and spiritual practice that includes breathing and meditation. While it can be practised anywhere, a tranquil environment can certainly enhance its calming effect.
This is the inspiration behind the Wellness and Spa Retreat. Some of the activities include meditation, beach and garden yoga, moonlight yoga and workshops on classic poses.
“The objective is to rejuvenate and escape routine just like you would at a retreat abroad. It is about connecting to your inner self and finding balance.
“Anyone can do it from a baby to a senior. Everywhere you go these days, you are guaranteed to find a yoga class. The key is finding a style you enjoy and a teacher you can groove with,” says Sasha, who walked away from a corporate job three years ago to dedicate her time to teaching yoga.
Aside from its meditating effect, yoga is also known for its many health benefits.
