Taste of Abu Dhabi, the capital’s favourite food, drink and entertainment festival, is back on from 7th to 9th November featuring the third edition of Big Baking Tent Bake Off by ICCA. Come sample food from the hottest local restaurants, see live-cooking demonstrations by international celebrity chefs who will also teach you tricks of the trade in masterclasses. In addition to a dedicated kids’ zone with face painting, arts and crafts and trampolining by Bounce Inc., there will be tonnes of entertainment for adults too. It’s a date!
Hudayriat Island is hosting a free drive-in cinema for two days as part of Abu Dhabi Moments. Friday will feature the rom-com classic Sleepless in Seattle at 7pm, followed by The Dark Knight at 11pm. Saturday, meanwhile, will screen The Great Gatsby and Interstellar. There will be a lounge viewing area for film buffs who don’t watch from their cars. Getting hungry is not an option as food and drinks will be available for purchase in the site.

Flow like water
Get a glimpse of Syrian traditions at Structures of Impermanence exhibition. The art installation explores the architectural and cultural significance of water features, such as the bah-rah, in traditional Syrian houses. Talin Hazbar’s work inspects the connection between natural environment and material, and is augmented through extensive research into the social and historical contexts of that connection.
