The UAE’s capital has been named the safest place in the world to live for the fourth year in a row.
We know that Abu Dhabi is a great place to live and work. Now it’s official, as Abu Dhabi tops a list created by data crowd-sourcing website Numbeo.
Users rank cities on how safe they feel there, with Abu Dhabi scoring 88.67 out of 100 for safety. If the city has a high safety index, it is considered very safe.
Abu Dhabi has ranked ahead of 373 other cities around the globe. The capital also came lowest in a crime index, with a score of 11.33.
Neighbouring emirate Dubai checked in at sixth place and also in the top 10 are Doha, Taipei, Quebec City, Zurich, Munich, Eskisehir, Bern and Irvine.
Elsewhere in the world, Mangalore was ranked as the safest city in India while Islamabad was ranked the safest in Pakistan. Caracas in Venezuela was rated as the most unsafe city, with the highest crime index 84.90.
Celebrating the news, Abu Dhabi Media Office tweeted: “The result cements Abu Dhabi’s position as a desirable destination to live, invest, work and visit.”
