A four-day fest will screen cool Korean films in the capital.
Korean Film Festival 2019, hosted by The Embassy of the Republic of Korea, takes over Yas Mall Vox Cinemas from 26th to 29th June.
Each of the nine films will be shown with subtitles in English and tickets are only AED 21 (including VAT).
Whether you’re a long-time fan of the country’s prolific movie industry or simply Korean curious, there’s sure to be something on the schedule for you.
The film fest opens with Innocent Witness (pictured above), the dramatic tale of a potential murder and a teenage witness with autism.
Actor Lee Kyu-hyung, who plays a prosecutor in the movie, will meet fans before the screening on 26th June and hold a free Q&A session afterwards with the film’s producer Lee Jun-woo. It’s first come, first served, so be sure to get there for the start time of 6pm.
Also on the big screen are historical drama The Great Battle (12+), children’s animation Underdog (PG) (pictured above) and gentle love story Romang (PG), about an elderly couple with dementia.
In the spirit of the UAE’s Year of Tolerance, during the cultural celebration cinema-goers can also see Emirati film Nearby Sky (PG), the story of a female camel owner.
