11 ways to celebrate Eid in Abu Dhabi

Enjoying a long break for the Eid al Fitr holiday?

Whether you’re using the occasion to spend more time with family and friends or make the most of the special offers around town, there are plenty of ways to celebrate Eid in Abu Dhabi. Here are 11 of our favourites, from mall activities and concerts to fireworks, family brunches and a rollercoaster rally.

At Marina Mall Abu Dhabi, several outlets will be open for 24 hours as part of the 24-hour Mega Mall Sale, taking place from 10am on 5th June. Additional promotions will see discounts of up to 90 percent on select items and buy-1-get-1-free offers. From the 1st to the 4th day of Eid, Nickelodeon Rocks! will feature live shows as well as arts and crafts activities. Al Wahda Mall Ramadan

Other malls are celebrating the occasion with special offers and entertainment, too. Mushrif Mall will host three days of modern Arabic stage shows while Khalidiyah Mall and Al Wahda Mall will host performances and roaming activities. Kids can join in special activities and enjoy balloon bending and magic shows at Al Raha Mall while Mazyad Mall will come alive with a masquerade and carnival themed event featuring dance shows, family games and competitions.

Meanwhile in Al Ain, Al Foah Mall will host games, magic shows and dance performances, while Barari Outlet Mall has lined up activities including children’s art workshops, a clown show and Latin and Tanoura dance shows.

Spend time with the family relaxing by the pool at Al Raha Beach Hotel. The special Recreation Day Pass gives you access to Body & Soul Recreation Club where you can swim in the outdoor pool or indoor, temperature-controlled Hydro massage pool, enjoy a Jacuzzi or sauna, and let the little ones loose in the kids club. AED 250 for adults, AED 450 for couples, AED 150 for children. Available 4th-8th June.

If visiting on 7th June, you can also enjoy a barbecue themed dinner at La Piscine. Feast on a variety of seafood and meat cooked just the way you like it, while enjoying beats from the Cuban band and views of the beach. AED 130, children aged six to 12 dine for half price. Taking the family to Yas Island? Then take advantage of the Kids Go Free package where little ones under 12 years old can visit the island’s award-winning theme parks – Ferrari World Abu Dhabi, Yas Waterworld and Warner Bros World Abu Dhabi – for free when accompanied by a paying adult. What’s more, Warner Bros World is extending its opening hours until 10pm each evening during Eid, and Ferrari World is hosting its Rollercoaster Rally on 5th June with free entry from 6pm to midnight – you just pay for rides as you go. Nearby, Yas Marina will host a spectacular fireworks display for three consecutive nights. Dine in one of the marina’s food and beverage outlets, including Cipriani, Stars N Bars or The Scene by Simon Rimmer, and enjoy the display daily at 9pm. Visit: yasmarina.ae

Fireworks will also light up the sky on the Corniche. The dazzling display will feature a kaleidoscope of colour with 15,000 shots from 13 shooting points across the water in a V-shape formation.

At The Galleria Al Maryah Island you can explore a curated selection of images featuring the late founder of the UAE, Sheihk Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, during key moments in the creation of the country. The photography exhibition, hosted in collaboration with the National Archive, features some never-before-seen images. While at the mall, little ones can enjoy complimentary activities from 8pm to 11pm, including sand art, face painting and lantern making. Visit: thegalleria.ae

Hussain Al Jasmi

The new Hala BilKhaleej festival kicks off this Eid, putting music from the Gulf region in the spotlight with a series of live concerts. On 6th June, fans can see Hussain Al Jassmi, Balqees Fathi and Eisa Al Marzouq perform at Adnec. Tickets from AED 75 at ticketmaster.ae

ramadan tea and dates

Bring the family together at the Ramadan and Eid Festival 2019. The exhibition combines a consumer show with traditional celebrations where loved ones can enjoy unique gifts, Arabic food, toys and games as well as traditional songs and dance. Until 5th June. eid al fitr brunch dahab

Eid is for gathering with friends and family over delicious food so mark the occasion at Dahab Restaurant & Lounge with a brunch set menu on 4th June.
